Terrestrial, 2026

‘Terrestrial’ (2026), a sculpture and installation investigation of the intimate entanglement between primeval ecosystems and contemporary extraction industry. It focuses on the alchemical transformation of deep time ecosystems both in the metaphysical reforming of ancient plants into coal, and in the collective perception of deep time phasing into science fiction. These sculptures exist between fiction and reality, interpreting drawings that interpret Devonian period plant fossils, blurring boundaries between deep time, science fiction, and speculative futures.
